Dhibaatiyo adoo gaajo qaba dhaxanta jiilaalka
Dhoor caano laga soo lisoo yara dhanaanaaday
Nin dhadhamiyey wuu garanayaa dhul ay qaboojaane
Goortaad dhanta baa jidhkaba dhididku qooyaaye
Ragga laxaha sii dhawrayoow dhaqasho waa geele
whilst you struggle through hunger, and the cold nights of winter
She-camels milked, the taste a little salty
whoever tastes that knows where it cools
when you swig sweat bursts out, skin wet
Oh you who look at sheep for wealth, Camels are worthier pursuit
I used to drink fresh camel milk brought to the main market in Afmadow on my way to Kenya. The Cawl-Yahan and Bartire nomads used to bring that to the market as their Camels were at the wells to drink water.
Sayid Maxamed used to get high on the camel milk and is quoted as saying
Markaan wab ka siiyaa indhaha wahab ka duullaaye.
He is literally saying
when I take a sip of camel milk, sparks fly from my eyes
